“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs - and becoming who you are.”

Mental Health Counselor, Peer Support Specialist, Trainer
Who I Am Professionally:
In my clinical practice as a counselor, I strive to be, first and foremost, empathetic and compassionate towards my clients. I believe in the power of basic human connection based upon a deep level of respect and understanding. I use an integrative approach to counseling that recognizes how a client's emotions, thoughts, and behaviors present themselves in the client's life. I strive to empower my clients to become aware of their own strengths to create the change they desire to see in their lives. We all possess strength that allows us to achieve the highest version of ourselves.
It is my belief as a counselor that true change and healing can come from addressing and unpacking traumas and difficulties that lead to present struggles and roadblocks in our behaviors. We can grieve and understand past experiences AND hope for a more positive future. One of my focuses is incorporating education around how experiences affect the body both mentally and physically. To move forward with one's mental health, it is important to also uncover the places in our past we remain stuck. I find fulfillment in helping clients navigate difficult life transitions because I believe certain life transitions are pivotal in helping clients grow mentally and physically. I am all in to support my clients in their journeys to happiness and healing.
Who I Am Personally:
I am many things outside of my professional life. I am a fur mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, an aunt, and a friend. I cherish all of my roles and I find happiness in creating a loving support system outside of my professional life. I am an encourager, a supporter, a motivator, a perfectionist, a student, an overachiever, and over-sharer, an empathetic shoulder for others to cry on, a traveler, a lover of different foods, and cultures. I crave diversity and I advocate for others who do not feel empowered enough to voice their own opinions. I am opinionated and loud mouthed, I am compassionate, I am caring, I am relatable, and a person who thrives on connection with others. All in all, I love immensely.
